In response, the European Commission has pledged to strengthen pesticide residue legislation and to<strong> step up checks to ensure that agricultural imports comply with European standards.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">On the other hand, those who support the agreement argue that greater competition could bring <strong>benefits for the final consumer <\/strong>and that European standardsof quality and food safety will be maintained. Nevertheless, <strong> its effect will depend on how markets evolve and on the ability of European authorities to ensure that all imported products comply with the current regulations.<\/strong><\/p><h3>\u00a0<\/h3><h3><strong>Direct impact on M&amp;A activity<\/strong><\/h3><p class=\"translation-block\">In this context,  <strong>M&amp;A plays a significant role in managing operations between Europe and Latin America.<\/strong> European companies and investors will be able to consider the opportunity to partner with or acquire Latin American companies to expand their regional footprint.
